Sony: Swarovski crystals involved

8-15-07-e010.jpg
Looks like Sony has caught on the Swarovski bug with their techs. Their latest, and limited, edition of the Walkman E010 Lineup is studded with Swarovski crystals. As you can see in the picture, it’s quite pretty and you’ll pay a pretty price for them too. The 1Gig walkman (yes they come with storage these days) MP3 will cost you ¥15,800 ($134), the 2GB ¥18,800 ($160) while the 4GB unit demands ¥24,800 ($210). It’s not exactly expensive but I’d rather buy an iPod.

Digital TV from the PSP

Sony has announce digital TV from it’s PSP. Japanese buyers of the PSP can now tune into DVB thanks to their 1 seg terrestrial digital broadcast – something the US and Canada does not have. The PSP-S310 has the digital television add-on will cost somewhere around $58. I can assure you that it will get snapped up so fast, you won’t be done saying “BANZAI”. The release of the PSP-S310 will coincide with the new PSP launch on the 20th of September this year.

Oh whyyyyy is US and Canada so backwards? In Japan they can have TV on the go, while we’re still stuck in our living room watching TV behind a big screen lump of industrial plastic. Where’s the mobility in that?

Read the scoop here.

*no pix yet obviously.

Sony Ericsson MBW-150 bluetooth watch

Bluetooth watches are really popular these days. Maybe it’s because it’s just a novelty. Having able to turn off your phone with your watch impresses chicks or is a thrill to some geeks. TO me a watch is a watch anyhow. Sony Ericsson’s MBw 150 is the watch that caters to today’s fascination with bluetooth watches. It comes with a AVRCP support, which allows it to connect to your phone.

Anyway, this is a really new thing…no much information about it is out yet so I’ll keep you posted on the pricing and proper specs Soon.

Sony Vaio CR series

sony-vaio-cr-official-1.jpg

The Sony Vaio CR series is finally getting serious with their release new line thin notebooks. Actually, I thought they looked kinda attractive with all the color schemes and options. You can expect a glossy finish in a silvery frame to give it style and chic-ness. Anyhow, all these exteriors means nothing to me. It’s what’s inside that counts. The Sony Vaio CR series will include a Core2Duo processor (of course), a decent graphics card of Intel GMA X3100, a resolution of 1280 x 800 resolution, and 2GB of RAM. However, since this is a portable laptop, the screen size is a 14inch one and it’s also widescreen.

Personally, I wouldn’t go for any widescreens below 15inches. A 14 inch wide screen is too distorted, the fonts are too small and everything just seems cramp to me. I just bought myself a wide screen laptop from acer as well, it’s 17” but it’s pretty cool because it’s wide and uncramp. I saw the 15inch one and it looked just about the right size and that any lower it would threaten the space that comes with a widescreen.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. The Sony Vaio CR will be out later this month (June 2007) and will be priced at $1350. Buy it for the brand and the style, although I wouldn’t recommend it for comfort of the eyes.

Sony Mouse Phone

sony_mouse_phone_sony-mouse-phone.jpg

No it’s not a phone for mice. It’s a dual purpose phone that Sony has come up with it. INGENIUS i tell you. Who wouldn’t want a computer mouse that is also a phone?? It’s the most decent idea since sliced bread!

This phone is only a available in Japan so people like me who are not in Japan can kiss my big bottom about ever getting one. *sulks*

Let me tell you a bit more about the phone. It’s actually a Skype phone, not a cellphone with GPS, digital camera and what not. It makes more sense that way cos otherwise who would want to buy this cellphone that acts as a mouse? So yes, it’s a Skype phone that transform into a mouse and into a phone again at a flip.

Say AYE! to Sony Mouse Phone.

Sony’s Foldable TV

flexible_170612a.jpgA glimpse to the future?

Sony has definitely surpassed itself by unveiling the world’s first foldable tv that is SO thin it could fit in a t-shirt or around a pole or anything you can think of. The screen is only 0.3mm thick, that’s even thinner than a pencil point.

Check out their video:

Isn’t that cool?

This technology is new and Sony said that they don’t know yet what would entail from this technology. But I think it would entail many great things. A TV that thin could fit anywhere. In fact why buy LCD or Plasma TV anymore when this flexi-tv comes outs? It’s so thin you can just paste it on any wall.

Toshiba’s HD DVD Players cut prices

toshiba-hda2.jpg
Toshiba HD-XA2

A spoof made by the people are Gizmodo on how Sony said their Blu-ray players are going to take over the world in 3 years made me laugh. However, Sony’s world domination message has certainly striked a cord somewhere with the Toshiba because they are cutting their HD DVD prices down down down. The HD-XA2, the HD-A20, and the HD-A2 is now priced at $799, $499, and $399, respectively…that’s at least a $200 bucks cut each.

I guess now the best time to buy them. However, the prices is said to start only in April so hold your horses first because this COULD be a hoax or it could be a wonderful news to those who is eyeing to buy one *nods*

Sony’s 1st WiFi Camera

sony-cybershot-g1.jpg

Sony has just come up with their very first wireless camera, surprisingly, called the Cybershot G1. I thought this Japanese company would have thought about it long ago. Well, I guess it’s better late than never in this case.

The camera would be available next month, April 2007, for $600 a pop. The digital camera is 6-megapixel, has a large 3.5-inch LCD, 3x optical zoom, impressive 2GB of internal memory (expandable with Memory Stick Duo and PRO Duo cards), slide show with music capabilities, and a bevy of wireless sharing options. Sounds really cool. Actually, I’m very attracted to their function where you could perhaps transfer your pics without any wires. I’m tired of untangling wires everytime i want to load pictures for my food blog.

Look at that screen!

If your place do not have the new Sony Cyber-Shot G1 yet, you can order it online from Sony.
