The fireplace may look sleek and shiny at the corner of your home, next to the TV. With the flames protruding upwards like the cone of Olympics, your home will look like it’s the best place in town, until one of your guests unknowingly sit on it. Oops. It gives a new meaning to the term flaming ass.
It is never a good idea to have an open flame in the house for various (good) reasons. Needless to say, this is not child friendly so only bachelor(ettes) with half a sense need apply in this purchase. Next entry at the Darwin’s awards anyone?
The open Lounge Fireplace is $1621 and comes with a variety of wood and steel, if you’re really interested.
As my title suggested, this air freshener is an air gun cleaning device that supposedly kills aroma in the air instead of masking it with perfume. Concept wise, it looks like you’re spraying snow all over the place but in fact, it is micro-bubbles that will trap odors and diffuse it before drying up on it’s own.
This really cool light pole is basically a play on infractions of light rays that you can see using a microscope on fiber optics. Designer Paul Cocksedge wanted to create an illusion of a bending light so what’s better than utilizing a bit of children’s science and make a light rod that reflects light to make it seem like a bending light? All you need is a bulb at the base and long glass rode slightly bend at the top and voila, bended light!

At a glance, this coffee table reminds up how far we’ve come in our technological advancements. Come on, a coffee table that is also a computer station with a touch screen for you to operate. The ROSIE comes with an Apple OS and comes with a touch screen to drag and function at the tip of your fingers. And their creators Savant Systems LLC has created something similar before – a wall unit of the same functions.
The functions on the ROSIE coffee table downloads pictures, videos, music seamlessly. It also allows total home control installed, that means you can turn off your porch light with a light tap on your coffee table if you wish.
We have definitely come a long way since TV was born. Now, you probably can even catch the morning news on your coffee table, while sipping your cuppa now.
I was checking this awesome youtube video out about this apartment, belonging to an interior design. The apartment is designed in a way that it is able to change its modular structure, give you a different room each time. If you feel like an open spaced apartment that resembles a loft, you can. if you feel like having a bigger living room to entertain guests, you can, if you want to expand your bedroom because you’re staying in sick, you can, if you want anther bedroom to accommodate unexpected guests, you can….you just CAN with this apartment.
BEAM night light is the brainchild of Singaporean artist who combined photographic art and functional furniture. The night light has about 40 LEDs inside and a picture of random things around the city that is then beamed onto a wall, anywhere you want. The design is sleek and modern. It’d be perfect for the modern living room, bedroom, or just about anywhere you want in your house/apartment.
The beauty of this is that no one BEAM night light is the same. Everyone of them is unique.
You can get it shipped to Japan if you want, just contact via email with the pricing and product information :)
I really, really like this Ceramic Bag Vase flowers. It’s so creative. I want one. Check it out:
It’s not really electronics or gadgets but it’s definitely a THING that’s created out of innovation. You can never tell that it’s ceramic from a far. I think it gives us a little rustic look to our home. I am into plants and flowers this summer. I’ve already burnt a hole in my pocket so I might as well burn another for this Ceramic Bag vase :P

Wave if you want vision and sound. This speakers hail from the land of the rising sun, yea Japan. It’s particularly useful if you have it in your bedroom or workstation as you jsut need to wave your hands upwards and/or downwards for the volume.
It also comes with an FM station so if you’re bored u can tune in to your favorite station. Of course, this mini thing may be the rave because of it’s novel, don’t expect a sub woofer standard when you wave your hands up, up, up…each speakers are only 0.7W. It comes in two colors, black and white and can be run with AA batteries. You can also plug it to your main sound system too if you want but I don’t knwo why you would want to do that. Use it with your laptop, Apple iPod, DVD players as well as other MP3 players.
For $100, it’s quite worth it. Check out their Product Page.
Designchain is the brainchild of a New Zealand designer named Alan Huck. It’s basically his take on functionality and art, with this chain like storage device that can also be a piece of design that you can hang on the wall or arrange on any surfaces. The shelving and storage device is made from strong polycarbonate, which makes it safe for kids. Maybe it’s non-toxic in case any child wants to take a bite out of it or maybe it’s unbreakable if any child decides to throw a temper tantrum with it. Eitherway, the DesignChain looks good and is durably safe.
It’s uses has no limits so, it’s up to your creativity on how you want to store, use and design it in your home. I think that this is one of the more affordable (as in usable and functional) designs i have ever seen. You can buy this online from Charles & Marie for $190 or Better Living Through Design.
