If you have a mom or dad or grandparents who are computer savvy or is getting quite savvy but has a problem with reading small prints, this Large Print Keyboards is the answer!

The keys on this keyboard has large prints on them making them hard to miss. I really think it’s kinda cute. It is USB connected with PS2 connections too. THey come in 3 color combinations, white, black and black with yellow keys.
You can get one for your loved ones, or yourself from first Street :)

Calling all pink lovers out there, Fujitsu is going pink with their newest laptop and I think it’s going to make some girly girl happy. It weighs only 2.63pounds and has a 9 hour battery live so you can chat with you friends or do your homework, all together on your pink lappy without a fuss. The screen is only 10.6 inches, it’s no biggy if you’re not really using it for graphics or for work. It’s useful to carry around and showing it off to your friends while you check out what Paris’ new dig is in the cell. :P
You can get one from $1599 - $2000, depending on what you want in there. The basics would probably include 1Gg of Ram and 60Gig of space to start you off.

The Sony Vaio CR series is finally getting serious with their release new line thin notebooks. Actually, I thought they looked kinda attractive with all the color schemes and options. You can expect a glossy finish in a silvery frame to give it style and chic-ness. Anyhow, all these exteriors means nothing to me. It’s what’s inside that counts. The Sony Vaio CR series will include a Core2Duo processor (of course), a decent graphics card of Intel GMA X3100, a resolution of 1280 x 800 resolution, and 2GB of RAM. However, since this is a portable laptop, the screen size is a 14inch one and it’s also widescreen.
Personally, I wouldn’t go for any widescreens below 15inches. A 14 inch wide screen is too distorted, the fonts are too small and everything just seems cramp to me. I just bought myself a wide screen laptop from acer as well, it’s 17” but it’s pretty cool because it’s wide and uncramp. I saw the 15inch one and it looked just about the right size and that any lower it would threaten the space that comes with a widescreen.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. The Sony Vaio CR will be out later this month (June 2007) and will be priced at $1350. Buy it for the brand and the style, although I wouldn’t recommend it for comfort of the eyes.

A Japanese company, Thanko, has created a keyboard for sirensilent typing. I guess it would appeal to places like the library or a house with a finicky baby. The Silent Keyboard is layed out with silicon spring that produces about 60db, a sound our ear cannot catch I would assume, as compared to 30db that a normal keyboard produces.
The funny thing is, the product code for this Silent Keyboard in Thanko is Siren. Hence, the puns above :P
It’s on sale now for $33.17, oddly numbered but hey…if you order it now, you’ll be able to give it as a father’s day gift :)

In my previous post, I wrote about Toshiba’s Protege R500 and how it has a 7mm thick DVD burner, well, this post is dedicated to that thin burner for various reasons. 1) it’s the thinnest in the world currently as it beats the earlier 9.5mm ones by some other company and 2)it weighs only 99grams.
Seriously, this addition is going to be hot with everyone these days because who doesn’t want to be lighter, better and faster?

Akihabara was the one who took the R500 apart and checked out the 7mm DVD burner!
This is Toshiba’s ultra thin laptop that is only 2.4lbs. This is significantly lighter for a normal sized laptop. Each unit features a 12.1 inch LED backlit display and comes with a built-in optical drive. It is the ONLY laptop to include a 7mm thin optical drive, mind you.
Look at how thin the Portege R500 looks from the sides. It’s crazily thin and it will probably fit anywhere, which is the reason why they call it ultraportable :)

According to the guys at Gizmodo who did a review on the Portege R500, who had a R500 to play with for a month said that the laptop’s pretty hardy even though it’s so light. That’s a very good call, so gather $1999 and buy yourself one. For that price, i hardly think it’s expensive at all - it’s a pretty good deal considering what’s involved.
Check out their Press Release.

No it’s not a phone for mice. It’s a dual purpose phone that Sony has come up with it. INGENIUS i tell you. Who wouldn’t want a computer mouse that is also a phone?? It’s the most decent idea since sliced bread!
This phone is only a available in Japan so people like me who are not in Japan can kiss my big bottom about ever getting one. *sulks*
Let me tell you a bit more about the phone. It’s actually a Skype phone, not a cellphone with GPS, digital camera and what not. It makes more sense that way cos otherwise who would want to buy this cellphone that acts as a mouse? So yes, it’s a Skype phone that transform into a mouse and into a phone again at a flip.
Say AYE! to Sony Mouse Phone.

This new Fujitsu laptops are covered with cloth and to me, it’s absolutely beautiful. The Fab PC concept is made from fabric and flexible e-paper as display. Tell me if it’s not environmentally friendly :)
The Fab PC is so lightweight you can carry it around and it’s even hardy enough for you to drop it on concrete and it won’t make a peep squeek. But this is just a concept unfortunately. It will certainly be lighter but would it be solid enough to hold? As paper and fabric deteriorates very quickly.I still think the laptop is such an eye candy though.
Here’s to seeing the Fabric PC coming true. Cheers!

Fujitsu U8240 is the company’s smallest tablet/UMPC with 1,024 x 600 5.6-inch display and weigh a mere 1.2 pounds. It’s got a flexible monitor that can do a 360 degrees as well. And now it is going to be available to the US thanks to Dynamism who will be importing it for the American consumers. It’s going to arrive in two versions; Window’s Vista and Window’s XP. With the problems many people complain about Vista, I have an inkling that many will choose XP. I would choose XP, i think it’s awesome.
Price for each unit goes for $2,099.

Researchers in India said that they could build a $10 laptop that is fully functional for kids. Now, that One Laptop Per Child program is going to hell if this ever comes true because that program started out with $100 per laptop and now the price has gone up to $175. That’s just nuts - all this balahoo about helping children and then you make money off the this “cause”.

One Laptop Per Child poster - those children were probably bribed with candies when they found out about the $10 laptop..:P
I hope those guys in India will make those $10 laptops because then, EVERY child can probably afford a laptop. Well, since this is just what the dudes in India said, it hasn’t been done yet but if they’re So sure it’s do-able, i’m keeping my fingers crossed. For all you know these OLPC program might want to thwart them and call them liars in the face of the world, then u can wave bye bye to $10 laptops because even if it could exist, it’s just not allowed to in this inflation bound world.
