
Canon has released their newest model in the tiny and shiny Powershot series (called IXY, in Japan). The camera features a 7.1 megapixel CCD with DIGIC II image processing architecture, 3.0x optical zoom, and a large 2” LCD. Plus, they rounded their traditional rectangle design and it looks very
very stylish!
Oh, and you can buy it for 44,416 yen (about 440 US$) tax included.

Nikon will launch its new CoolPix S1 digital camera on April 15th. This 5.1MP CCD camera has a 35~105mm lense and fills up SD cards. There is also a WP-CP5 waterproof casing (maximum depth of 40m).

Sony presents this new little digital camera, the T7. It will be the big brother of the T3, T33, … and it’s strong point is the thickness: 9.8mm (the full dimensions are 91.7×60.2×9.8mm and 136g).
It has a 5MP resolution and a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar with 3x optical zoom and a 2.5″ LCD. Very impressive indeed.
More Sony with the S40, also equiped with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar but with a resolution of 4.1MP and this cam’s dimensions are 99×34.2×51.7mm for a weight of 180g.
Matsushita Electric Industrial (Panasonic) unveiled the world’s smallest and lightest 3CCD digital camcorder:




The “Digicam NV-GS150″ is equipped with a 2.32 mega-pixel CCD (800,000 x 3 pixel) on its compact body, measures 71 x 73 x 123mm and weighs 420g… All that for 79,800 yen ($777 USD)!

In October sales of home electronics in Japan accounted for US$ 1.4 billion, a fall for the third month in a row in comparison with 2004.
According to the Nippon Electric Big-Stores Association who reported the statistics, the sluggish sales was due to the earthquake in Niigata and the heavy typhoos that hit Japan in October. DVD player and TV sales increased, but sales of video cameras and PCs are fell.
