Blackberry Bold vs. iPhone

In my opinion, Blackberry rocks more than iPhone, so check out comparison video.

I know the Bold’s browser is not comparable to the iPhone but the iPhone has a touch screen whcih means it’s got a bigger screen than the Bold, so like DUH, of course it is gonna show better on the iPhone.

Logitech does right Mac

webcam-mac.jpg

Logitech is one the most reliable in term of quality for webcams. Although i would like to think that their mouse is pretty good as well. But Logitech webcam has enabled many of us to transcend distance and view our loved ones. It has also brought porn to a whole new level of liveliness too.

But what Logitech did not have before was share its awesome web cams with Apple computers. Incompatibility was a major issue and plus, Mac users only makes up for 4% of users? Okay maybe 8% as compared to PCs where 80% of the users are. Logitech has decided to come out nice and make a Mac compatible webcam as a symbol of civility. Instead of making ads with PC to show how inadequate Mac is because it’s incompatible with so many softwares and hardwares, Logitech made the sleek QuickCam Vision Pro.

With the Quick Cam Vision Pro, you can shoot 720p high-def video clips, and VGA-quality video at up to 30 frames per second while video calling with iChat and Skype. It also features a 2-megapixel sensor, and Logitech’s RightLight 2 Technology. The RightLight technology enables to camera to adjust intelligently to the brightness level.

Well, I know what some of you might say. You might say Macs don’t need a bloody external webcam because in Macs, webcams are in built. Not all though, not all.

iView yo’ momma!

iview.jpg
Okay, lame ass joke up there but this iView concept monitor makes no sense to me. What does it do if it’s curved like that? Shield your next cell mate from stealing glances at your porn? I understand it was inspired from the 50’s cinerama screens but there is a reason why that stayed in the 50’s, isn’t it? And then there is a second screen, sizeably smaller, and it made no sense being there at all except that it’s suppose to be “cool”.

It looks futuristic, like something you had seen in Judge Dread: The Movie ages ago and you go “Oooo and Ahhhh” until you see the price tag. I am sure it won’t be cheap being Apple and all. Apparently the extremely thin (and extremely expensive) iMac Air was a fucking disaster because it’s basically a thin layer of plastic and the headphones port don’t work well AND you can only surf the net using Wi-Fi. Pfft…wtf is that?

But that’s just so typical of Apple. All frills and no deals.

Add $19 for an Apple remote

An Apple remote for $19. Anyone?

ZEverything costs you at Apple, even a stinking plastic remote that should come free, like when you buy a TV, a hifi system or a blu-ray DVD player. But at Apple, a remote will cost you another $19. Pfft. This is why I will never be a part of the Apple community save for the iPod I stowed away and converted into a hippie songster. It’s too capitalistic just like the country it comes from.

Has anyone thought of making Apple the country’s national brand? Maybe every home will have an Apple branded gadget/stuff/mookies because it’s patriotic like the national flag.

That’ll be $20/person annually for the royalty, please.

iPhone gone Platinum

iphoneplat.jpg
Literally. You can now buy an iPhone coated completely out of Platinum – which incidentally is my favorite metal. Ahem. Anyway, the purpose of this Platinum iPhone is purely for decadence. And it is two weeks before it is the time to be jolly, traa la la la la la la la la….so, anyone keen on forking up $2230 for a platinum coated iPhone?

Nevermind that it will scratch, it will still work anyway. Pffttt…

This is one stocking stuffer you will want to think for a longg time before buying. Fo’shure.

Apple not as favored as fanboys might think

I am sure the survey has its confounding factors but regardless +/- aside, Macs are not as popular as some Mac-fans might think. Analyst, Gene Munster, of investment bank Piper Jaffray did a little analysis about Apple’s apparent skyrocketing popularity but it the reason why for the jump is because Apple’s just shipped 2.16 million in the third quarter of this year. Fanboys might be jumping on the table and go “I told you so! I told you so! MAC’s the best!” but they might need to get their feet down a little because according to the report, Apple’s world market constitute only 3.2% of worldwide PC sales.

marketshare_macpc2.jpg

According to IDC, Apple’s market share is considerably higher, reaching 6.3% at the end of the third quarter of 2007. That’s compared to a 5.7% market share at the end of the same quarter last year, a 15.9% gain. Still, that’s a tiny sliver of Dell’s 28% market share an HP’s market share of 24.3%. Either way you slice it, even though in the echo chamber of the blogosphere it seems like Apple is dominating, Macs are still a relatively minor player when it comes to market share.

Gizmodo for the quote and for that diagram :P.

SanDisk reinvents to give Nano the boot

sansaview_card.jpg

SanDisk recently reinvented it’s video/audio players, Sansa View with a higher memory space and at an unbeatable price. The iPod Nano costs $199, comes with an 8 gig space and of course, the brand, Apple as well. But Sansa View does everything that the Nano does except it has twice the capacity with 16 gig and for the same price. You can also add more memory by buying an extra MicroSD/SDHC memory card, which you can easily jack up the space to 24gig.

Well, with this, i conclude that Nano will be ever popular just for its brand name while SanDisk will eventually get a warmer reception for its value.

ROSIE: Coffee table with a touchscreen

viewmedia2.jpg

ROSIE

At a glance, this coffee table reminds up how far we’ve come in our technological advancements. Come on, a coffee table that is also a computer station with a touch screen for you to operate. The ROSIE comes with an Apple OS and comes with a touch screen to drag and function at the tip of your fingers. And their creators Savant Systems LLC has created something similar before – a wall unit of the same functions.

The functions on the ROSIE coffee table downloads pictures, videos, music seamlessly. It also allows total home control installed, that means you can turn off your porch light with a light tap on your coffee table if you wish.

We have definitely come a long way since TV was born. Now, you probably can even catch the morning news on your coffee table, while sipping your cuppa now.

Keyboard Function Keys Kaputz – Apple

applekeyboard.jpg

It appears that there has been several complaints about the function keys on the Aluminum Apple Keyboard. The complaints being that the function keys, F4 and F3, which activate the expose and the dashboard functions, does not work. Hmm.. I thought Steve Jobs was a perfectionist! What happened?

The Aluminum Keyboard looks really nice despite it shortcomings – slim and neat.

You can read more about it at the discussion forum in Apple Support.

Anyone who has bought this keyboard facing the same problem?
