Forget Apple’s Tablet. NEC to launch Android tablet early 2010
We’ve all been waiting patiently for Apple’s mysterious tablet (or iSlate, depending on what you want to call it). While it’s uncertain exactly when in the next year that product will launch, rumor has it that Jobs is extremely pleased with the result. So while we’re all waiting for that bombshell to drop, there are a few other tablet PCs to occupy our time with.
The latest is this new Android tablet from NEC, which is said to launch in Japan early in the new year. Admittedly it does look pretty slick, although there ain’t no way that it’s going to shine like Apple’s tablet.
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on not only this NEC tablet, but also on the Apple tablet as well. Do you think it will be a game changer like the iPhone was? Or do you think it’s over-hyped? Or possibly both?
Whatever the case it’s good to see some stiff competition step up to the plate and pose a strong challenge to Apple. This kind of competition will keep both all hands from becoming complacent, and the real winner will be the consumer.
