Samsung X360 slaughters MacBook Air

Many of you are probably familiar with Apple ads that bashes PC comically played out by two demi-popular actors, Justin Long and John Hodgman. Of course, Apple’s claim about PC’s Vista being a useless piece of cr*p is untrue. The most recent ads was PC showcasing his new line of therapeutic teas and bath salts while Vista crashes. FYI, I have been using Vista and my PC did not crash once since it was installed.

Anyway, remember the MacBook Air that Apple came out with several months back. How thin it is, and how sleek it could even fit into an envelope? Of course, it’s a product with many defects and bad designs. You need wifi to get online, there is not detachable battery, only three ports – USB, a highly selective Micro DVI and headphones. What happens when your battery dies on you? You cannot replace it with a new one but you would need to send it back to Apple, making you laptop-less for 3 weeks. So why pay a bomb for this when you can get the Samsung X360.

Here’s the good and bad from Gizmodo, which pretty much sums it up:

The Good: Ultra-thin, ultra-light, great quality, and good number of features, including expandability via Express Card and direct access to HDMI and flash cards (I can kill for this one). No compromises except the optical unit, which I can live without, like many other people, I suspect. The keyboard was comfortable, chiclet-style.

The Bad: The damn piano black finish. As a personal note, the fact that it can’t run Mac OS X (without modification) is the main drawback for me, as I think it’s what makes the MacBook the best notebooks in the market. However, this last “bad” won’t be bad at all for the largest part of the market, though.

Well, if Samsung could put the price at $1800, it would be the best option out there for thin laptops that is easily portable without the unnecessary frills but functional enough to knock the MacBook Air off it’s fanatical podium. Look it is even light enough for that petite girl to wave it around effortlessly while doing a commentary on it.

It won’t be long before Fujitsu comes out with something similar.

What the name of the psychological disease where a person have 2 radically different personalities expressing themselves at random times ?

Because when I read your post on computers and your general positions(s)(s)(s) toward Apple, it feels like your not exactly… say… consistant..

As for Vista, I never crashed it either. The fact that I only run it in a virtual machine thrue VMWare on Windows XP and have not used it for more than 5 minutes might have greatly helped…
(Dude, even Microsoft is throwing the towel on this p.o.s. that’s cute to have anectdotal observation to support your opinion. But try to see this turd at an enterprise scale level… and you will realize that it’s bad beyond the worst IT nightmare. The only good thing with Vista is that it make people understand how usable XP finally became and that now it would make perfect sense to upgrade Win 2000 workstations to XP)

Inconsistencies? I never liked Apple products except for its iPod and I have always thought MacBook Air is a piece of overblown aerated crap. You must have mistaken me for the other sites you also trolled.

1 mahhh bad… read too fast… you were quoting Gizmondo…

2 That would have been bipolar disorder…

    3 I’m not a Troll, I’m a highly cynical and bored creature.

Aside, do you know if Samsung TV will be available one day again in Japan ? (their combined world-standard-tv/computer-monitor where really Da bOmB)

You read too fast, so that’s why some of your comments don’t make sense. :)

I don’t know when Samsung TV will be available again in Japan.
