When 50 Million sold isn’t enough – Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone not too long ago to the mass consumerism in 2001 and expected a big bang to come out of it. It did, it drove throngs of people to its premier and guess what, many bought the iPhone despite it being flawed and filled with unnecessary functions that we will probably never use unless we’re Steve Jobs. I mean $80/month to get the phone going is quite stiff, no doubt there may be unlimited internet access but really…who really “surf” the net on their phone even though their phone’s screen is as big as the phone itself?
I am pseudo-bashing the iPhone but I still think it looks pretty sexy, let me get that out first. The purpose of this post is not about iPhone bashing, it’s about Steve Jobs being not happy with 50million sets sold over the past 5 years. 50million is a big number but over five years? The Moto Razr sold 50million in less than 2 years.
Now you can see why Jobs’ unhappy? He hasn’t beaten any record, just like his expensive macs (as they don’t exactly vary that highly in quality from a good PC except in pricing – don’t kill me, i got this info from the horse’s mouth). Razr sold 50 million in 2 years and iPhone sold 50million in 5 years…Apple sure has a long way more to go in the phone industry.
Hmm… i have a suspicious thought that the Apple Community is going to buy two each starting from today after reading this post. You know how it’s leader is unhappy they will do whatever his whims and fancies are? :P

Funny that I should happen on this post while testing an iPhone in the US.

What are you talking about? The iPhone was just released two months ago. They JUST reached 1 million sold. If you are in fact referring to the iPod, are you seriously surprised that a CELL PHONE outsold a portable media player? You are so seriously misinformed it is scary.
