Z-Tech’s Breast Scanner

The screener is a very simple device which works on the idea that breast tissue has electrical properties and it’s known that if malignant cells are found in the breast tissues, more electrical fluency will be recorded. Hence, the higher electrical flow, the higher possibility that cancerous cells are being detected. The beauty of this device is that it does no require any skilled technician to operate it. You can do it yourself at home. And the process is a painless 3 minute procedure. It is also found to be more effective than mammogram, especially with young patients.

The actual physical setup of the device consists of 12 flower-petal shaped sensors that fits around the breast. Each of these petals is equipped with electrodes that send and receive an imperceptible, low level electrical current into and out of a breast. The impedance data collected by these sensors are transmitted to a computer that does the number crunching and presents the diagnosis in real time.

Although there are skeptics as to how accurate this device is, it will not be immediately replacing current breast cancer screening methods. It is just another device to check for breast cancer and is especially useful in places where mammogram is non-existant or is hard to reach.

I think this device would be a breakthrough in curing breast cancer. If with time, it is proven that this device is valid and dependable, it will definitely create breakthrough in breast cancer prognosis as the only cure to breast cancer is early detection.
