Cup Ramen Timer
You don’t really hear about cup ramen in Australia unless you go to Asian groceries. We do have it, but it’s called “two minute noodles” instead and has a slightly different preperation method. You put boiling water in it then microwave for two minutes. So actually, it’s more like 5 minute noodles because you have to wait for the water to boil first.
In Japan, you need to put boiling water into the cup/bowl then stand for three minutes. If you start eating too quickly, your noodles will be al dente. Leave it too late, and they’ll be soggy and disintegrating.
So here’s a product that will simmer your cup ramen for exactly three minutes. Designed for the busy, drunk or forgetful.
I have a question though: Do you really need to simmer it while you wait for 3 minutes? Doesn’t that just overcook it?
This product was for sale in Akihabara. I guess I should just go with it. I’m sure no one knows more about how to prepare the perfect cup ramen than a bunch of otaku.
