The Japanese obsession with golf is well known, although perhaps not as widespread as many would believe. Still, Japan has a large army of golf-club-toting salarymen and if you’re ever wondering what to buy as a present for a Japanese salaryman, some golfing equipment is a good bet.

Here’s a unique gadget that could work. It’s basically a spirit level for the golf course. This golf marker, known as the Black Panther for some reason, is filled with liquid. A small air bubble will tell you the slope angle of the green you’re going to hit off. Kooky, cute, and probably useless, it can be bought for about US$20.
