KURO-BOX/HG NAS Device
The original KURO-BOX was covered extensively last year, both in English and Japanese. Kurouto Shikou has released a new version though, and it seems to have slipped by mostly unnoticed. The KURO-BOX/HG is the same size as the original, and still sells for about 16,000yen, but many features have been updated and improved. One thing hasn’t changed though: total access and control. Kurouto Shikou do not lock down the device and end users are free to add/remove/modify services as they choose. Anything is possible.

The biggest improvement is the much faster Gigabit Ethernet port, but the CPU is also faster and memory has been doubled. Overall a very nice upgrade for the same price as the original KURO-BOX.
